Meet Our Partners: The #1 Coding Bootcamp in the World is now in Zurich

Girls in Tech Switzerland has recently partnered with Le Wagon, the global leading coding bootcamp provider who has recently opened a new campus in Zurich. Today, we are happy to tell you a bit more about Le Wagon and can’t wait to share with you what they have to offer.

Change your life – learn to code

Through immersive coding bootcamps, Le Wagon teaches people the tech skills and product mindset needed to thrive in the tech industry. Since 2013, Le Wagon has been teaching Web Development and Data Science in 45+ cities and 25+ countries. We have helped more than 15,000 people kick-start their tech career, upskill in their job, or launch their own startup. Le Wagon is the world’s most acclaimed coding bootcamp according to student reviews.

Why Zurich and how?

“Zurich is a vibrant city and such a big tech hub with Google, ETH, so many tech startups… Le Wagon just had to set up a campus in Zurich. Le Wagon is present everywhere in Europe (London, Berlin, Paris, Lisbon, Amsterdam, etc.) and it was an aberration not being here”, says Thibault Jaime, General Manager for Le Wagon in Switzerland.

Learning by doing is one of the mottos of Le Wagon. And this also applies to us internally. That’s why we tested the market in Zurich during Covid, by remotely operating 2 bootcamps. We did this with TechFace, our partner since 2019, who focuses on helping women build their careers in tech by bridging the gap between talented women and companies that love diversity.

It was a success, and we were able to kickstart our community in Zurich, teaching 20 students and finding our first local teachers. And of course we decided to go further.

The 1st batch is happening already

In April 2022, we decided to launch our 1st batch on campus in Zurich. 10 students decided to make the big step and are learning to code right now. We decided to set up the 1st campus at Trust Square, a co-working space and innovation hub focused on blockchain in the heart of the city. Its offices provide a physical space for creativity and exchange, making it the perfect location for Le Wagon’s Swiss launch.

Thanks to the support of both the local alumni who did the bootcamp in Zurich, and alumni coming from all over the world who have landed a job and are now based in Zurich, we were able to give a vibrant community feeling and an extended network to our current students from day 1.

Le Wagon is about having an impact on people’s lives by enabling them with the tech skills they need to change careers and thrive in their new professions and ventures.

We want to build a community in Zurich, and we care about giving back to the local community. We do this by offering events and workshops accessible to beginners and progressively help them build up their technical skills.

We are excited about this new chapter in Zurich and look forward to exciting partnerships to help raise awareness and make our programs available and accessible to all.
